- Ao no Exorcist Insert - Ch. 01 -

~ Your POV ~
After Mr. Faust left, all my classmates surrounded me saying how lucky I was, that they'll miss me and other things like that. Saying goodbye already is difficult, but seeing [Best friend name] crying made it ten times worse. I heard that True Cross is a tough school, but I promised that I would text her every once in a while and gave her a tight hug . Even Principal Tanaka said goodbye and told me he was happy to had a good student like me in his school. After that, he dismissed me.
I went home with many questions in my mind, but there was one thing I knew: something definitely was up.
"I'm home..." I said when I arrived at the monastery.
"Huh, [Nickname]? What are you doing here? You should be at school." the priest, named Yamato, asked. Yamato is the youngest priest here in the monastery and helps dad with the mass, being one of the altar boys. He acts like an older brother and is my current guardian, since dad went to Vatican to attend a meeting.
"You have no idea what happend today, Yamato." we sat in one of the benchs near the altar and I told him the story. Of course I didn't say the Rabbit part.
"Hmm, I didn't think he'd come so soon..." he mumbled although it wasn't low enough.
"Wait a second, you knew this would happen?!" I looked at him dumbfounded.
"Yeah, sorry to keep this from you, [Nickname]. It was Father Martin's decision to send you there."
"I can understand that he didn't say anything about this, he never trusted me to handle anything, but you? You just... didn't tell me?"
"Hey, I said I was sorry", Yamato said, and his apology had a softness to it that put off my anger... well, most of it. "I mean, I don't technically have a say in this: I just work here. Father Martin is my boss and I'm a stand-in babysitter for your unruly ass." Yamato smiled when I mock-punched his shoulder - I always do that when he's being mean. "It's not really my place to stick my nose in what you and your dad decide is best to do, so... Yeah. I did as I was told, plain and simple. ...I am gonna miss you, though."
Yamato looked straight ahead, as if something on the backrest of the pew in front of us was very interesting.
"Me too." I chewed on my lip a bit, before I caught myself with that old habit I was trying to break. "It's going to be weird with nobody burning my breakfast pancakes every morning." Yamato let out a sound that was something between a chuckle and a snort. "Why now, though? I mean, last time I checked dad didn't trust me to even go to the cinema because it was too far away and 'not safe'. Like I have to be watched 24/7." I looked down and held the hem of my skirt tightly, remembering the day dad said I was too immature, even though I have turned fifteen now.
"Because he realized you're not a little kid anymore." I raised an eyebrow and looked at Yamato again, and in return he just shot me this huge, smug grin. "It's obvious that the famous Rabbit can take care of herself."
"W-Wha-- H-How did you find out?!" He just chuckled at my shocked expression.
"Oh, you know; when Father Martin comes home late after a mission and sees the Rabbit leaving the monastery...? You're really not as smart as you think you are, [Nickname]. If you were you would've sneaked out first, then gone and put the mask on in some dark alley."
...I suddenly felt very dumb, and would have slumped in my seat, if not for Yamato making me jump by slapping his hand down on my shoulder in some sort of weird pat-in-the-back way.
"But, kudos for giving old Martin a good scare! Honestly, he really was scared. He thought something had happened and ran up to your bedroom to see if you were okay, but when neither you or the Sekiken were there he put two and two together." I facepalmed myself and cursed under my breath on how careless I was. "He was real mad at first, of course, but then... Yeah." Yamato removed his hand again. "I think it was the best thing that could've happened, actually. You're his little baby girl, always will be: he needed to get something like that thrown in his face to realize you've grown up. Now he knows that you are more than ready to be part of the True Cross Order." he sighed when I showed him my 'what the hell is this' face.
"The True Cross Order is a global organization of exorcists controlled by the Vatican. True Cross Academy has a secret cram school for exorcists that is only accessible with a magical key. To not arouse any suspicion, Mr. Faust, who's real name is Mephisto Pheles, said that you'll attend both normal and cram classes. That's why he appeared in your school today."
"I see... But, it wasn't really necessary to tell this Mephisto guy that I am the Rabbit though." I sighed and crossed my arms.
"Huh? We didn't tell him anything about this [Nickname]." I froze hearing Yamato's words.
'They didn't..? Then, how Mr. Fau-- I mean, Mephisto -- knows my secret?'
"Well, I think it's better for you to go to your room and start packing. Come on, I'll help you." I snapped back to reality when Yamato got up and went to my bedroom, with following right behind.
I woke up the next day earlier than usual, because a car would come here to get my things and take me to the Academy. I, then, heard a knock at my door.
"Oh, you're awake already? That's a rare sight for a sleepyhead like you~" I threw my pillow at Yamato's smirking face but, unfortunately, he dodged and I glared at him. I saw he was holding a package with an envelope on top.
"What is that, Yamato?" I asked as I got up.
"I don't really know, the postman left this just now. It's for you." he handed me the package and put it in my bed as I opened the envelope first.
"Miss [First name] [Last name],
At this point, I suppose you already know the true reason of your transference to my Academy. The package has your new uniform and a sword bag. Remember: always carry your sword with you from now on, because you never know when a demon will appear, am I right?

'I don't trust this guy one bit!' I glared at the letter and opened the package. The uniform consists of a pair of black shoes, a short, pink skirt, tight white thigh highs, a white colored shirt and a tie. I turned to look at Yamato that still was standing in the middle of the bedroom.
"Um, Yamato? I need to dress up now. Could you, you know, get out of my room, please?"
"Oh right! Sure! Hahaha... I'll.. make breakfast now!" Yamato smiled awkwardly and left, closing the door behind him.
I changed to my new uniform, which fit strangely well, put the Sekiken in the (colour) bag and walked to the kitchen. Yamato and I talked for a while as we eat the pancakes he had made until we heard a car horn. I got my luggage and walked out the monastery, however I stopped dead track when I saw... a pink limousine?!
"Good morning kids!" Mephisto said when he got out of the car. "Yamato! Long time no see, my boy." he then rubbed Yamato's hair.
"Ugh, stop treating me like a kid, Mephisto. I'm eighteen now!" Yamato told me he was a student of True Cross Academy and the cram school too. Now he's one of Father Martin's strongest assistants. "Take good care of her, understand?"
"Yes, yes Yamato-nii-chan. Shall we go now, Miss [Last name]?" I nodded and he took my luggage while I turned to Yamato and gave him a big hug.
"I'll miss you, Yamato." At that point, I was tearing up a little until he flicked me in the forehead. "Ouch! Why did you you that?!"
"Don't be such a crybaby, [Nickname]. I have a phone too, so text me every once in a while." he grinned at me, but I knew he was sad too. I nodded at him and he hugged me again. After we let go, I got in the limousine and went to the Academy.
We arrived at the at the Academy and, for the love of God, that school is gigantic!
'That is True Cross Academy?! It's bigger than a castle!'
After walking what seemed for hours, Mephisto used his key that led to a long corridor with many doors.
"Let's go to my office. There I'll explain some things to you, Miss [Last name]." with that, I started to follow him. Then, I felt a presence coming towards me with full speed.
~ Rin's POV ~
'Oh, crap! I'll be late!'
"Excuse me! Sorry!" I overslept again, now I'm running like a madman, bumping into everyone in the way, hoping that Yukio won't be too angry at me.
'Although it's his fault! He should've woken me up--- Oh shoot!' I saw a girl in front of me and I knew I wouldn't stop in time. But, when opened my mouth to warn her, she dodged in the last second like a ninja! I felt everything went in slow motion as I turned my head to look at the girl. I shouldn't have done that, because, when I did, a door hit me and I fell backwards.
"Ouch, that hurts." I sat on the floor rubbing my sore face.
"Hey, are you okay?" I looked up at the person and saw the ninja girl. She had (lenght) (color) hair, (color) eyes, (color) skin and a (colour) bag over her back and shoulder that looked just like mine. She held her hand out to me which I gladly took it.
"Miss [Last name], are you coming or not?" we heard Mephisto calling for someone who, apparently, was her and she sighed.
"Well, I need to go now. See you around and be careful with the doors." I blushed in embarrasment as she giggled and walked away.
'I wonder who is she...' I snapped back into reality when the bell rang.
"Oh crap! I'll be late!"
"Um, Yamato? I need to dress up now. Could you, you know, get out of my room, please?"
